Paint Stripping

We work on a week by week basis, so we do not do 24 hour stripping. This is because if you force strip furniture joints will loosen and damage will occur. We take time and care stripping doors and furniture and with experience of over 25 years we get the job right!

How to prepare doors for stripping

- Remove all handles
- Remove all hooks
- Try to remove any stickers
- Locks and hinges can be left attached

As you take off the doors from the frame you can mark the frames with pencil or felt tip and correspond the number on the frame by putting notches in the top or bottom of the door with a chisel or screwdriver. Make sure the notches are deep enough to see after the door has been stripped.

Bringing in stripping at our workshop

You can bring in furniture any day except Tuesday and Sunday. We are open 9-5 every day except Tuesdays/Sundays however the best time is towards the end of the week (Friday/Saturday). Most stripping will be ready to collect or delivered 4-5 days later.

Collection and delivery

If you want collection and delivery to make things easier for you we pick up in the evenings around Southampton and Bournemouth areas between 6 and 7.30pm.

-Pickups from Bournemouth area is on a Thursday night returned the following Thursday.
- Pickups in Southampton area is Friday night returned the following Friday.

The charge for collection/delivery is £5 each way with a minimum order of £45
